Almaty restaurants Ogonyok and Auyl by Askar Baitasov were included in La Liste's list of the world's best restaurants
05.12.24Restaurant of modern Kazakh cuisine Tör entered the extended list with two stars from La Liste. Kazakh restaurants entered the world ratings for the first time.
La Liste is an international ranking that annually publishes lists of the best restaurants and hotels around the world based on publications, travel guides and millions of online reviews.
This year, La Liste's list of the world's 1000 best restaurants for the first time included restaurants from Kazakhstan - Ogonyok (Almaty, ABR), Auyl (Almaty, ABR), Qazaq Gourmet (Astana) and Selfie (Astana) reports Forbes Kazakhstan.
Nine restaurants from Switzerland, France, UK, USA, China, Japan, China, Japan and Germany shared the first place of the rating.
ABR's restaurants are regularly featured in global media reviews - from The New York Times to CNN Traveler - and have received mentions in international awards such as UNESCO's Prix Versaille. Auyl has also been recognised as the best restaurant in Kazakhstan by the WhereToEat 2024 awards, with Ogonyok coming third in the ranking.
Auyl is an experimental restaurant project in Medeu tract under the direction of brand-chef Ruslan Zakirov. Auyl develops the concept of neonomadic cuisine and offers guests author's variations on Central Asian dishes. ‘Ogonyok’, located in a historical building in the centre of Almaty, on the place of cafe “Ledinka”, is smart comfort food on fire from Ruslan Zakirov.
Tör, which was included in the expanded La Liste list and received two stars, is a restaurant of modern Kazakh cuisine. Using national local products and modern cooking technologies, the restaurant's team headed by brand-chef Ruslan Abduramanov creates new and original dishes, giving Kazakh cuisine a new form.
